It's no secret that I love massage guns. I've had the privilege of testing many over the years. The TaoTronics Massage Gun was the first massage gun I ever used and remains to be one of my absolute favorites. I love it because it's extremely affordable, powerful — with 20 adjustable speeds, and versatile — with six interchangeable massage heads. I've had my TaoTronics Massage Gun for four years and it still operates and looks brand new. It delivers the power and versatility I've come to expect out of a full-sized gun.

The TaoTronics Massage Gun is a full-sized massage gun that offers 20 adjustable speeds, a range of 1400 to 3200 percussions per minute (PPM), 38 pounds of stall force, 12 millimeters (mm) of amplitude, and six interchangeable massage heads for full body coverage.

TaoTronics Massage Gun review: Hardware
The TaoTronics massage gun is a big gun with big power.
It's very durable. As I mentioned above, I've been using mine regularly for four years and it still operates and looks new. It weighs a hair over one and a half pounds (1.6-pounds to be exact), and features a lovely, texturized, silicone handle for a comfortable, no-slip grip.
Mine is an older generation and features a slightly different design in a dark blue color. The current generation comes in two colors: Army Green or Dark Grey.
It comes with a wall charger, sleek carrying case for the gun and all parts, as well as six interchangeable massage heads. The Ball Head is made of foam, the Air Cushion Soft Head of rubber, and the Flat-, Bullet-, D-Shaped-, and U-Shaped-Heads are made of a tough plastic.

Speed and amplitude
The fact that I get to choose from 20 adjustable levels of intensity is one of my favorite things about this massage gun.
It offers 1400 to 3200 percussions per minute (ppm) and will penetrate deeply with 38 pounds of stall force and 12 millimeters of amplitude.
There's not an enormous difference between speeds, but it is noticeable. Start slowly with this gun. Even though I use massage guns on a regular basis, I always start at level 1 and work my way up. Level 20 is very intense — definitely not a starting point. Don't come out with a full gun blazing; ease your body into it.
Operation
TaoTronics Massage Gun is a total breeze to operate.
My older generation has an on/off switch on bottom of the handle — not sure if the newer generation does or not. Both generations have three buttons on the LED display. The far left adds speed (or levels), the middle is a secondary power button, and the left decreases speed (or levels).
Another favorite feature is how quiet this massage gun is. It operates at 35 decibels (dB) which is barely louder than a whisper. I use mine all the time while I'm Netflix and Chillin' with my husband and he doesn't even notice until he sees it, then promptly attempts to steal it because it's awesome.
Battery and longevity
It has a great battery life of up to 10 hours, outfitted with a rechargeable, 2600mAh battery. The big drawback here is that it takes four hours to fully charge. Not a fan of the extra-long charge time, but for 10 hours of battery life, I'll take it.
Long charge time for even longer run time.
Like most massage guns, it will switch off automatically after running for 15 minutes straight. This is to prevent overheating. If you want to go longer than 15 minutes, it's not a problem, you'll just have to power it back on. It is not recommended to use this gun for more than an hour at a time, and you'll want to let it rest for at least 30 minutes between hour long sessions.
Massage Heads
TaoTronics Massage Gun comes with six interchangeable massage heads.
A Ball Head for larger muscle groups like the forearms, biceps, back, glutes, thighs, and legs. This head is great for total body coverage.
A Bullet Head (my personal favorite) for targeted trigger point therapy. Put it on those deep seated knots that feel impossible to reach, and feel them melt away. It's best for knots, hands, and feet.
A Air Cushion Soft Head for extra sensitive areas or muscles that need a little more TLC.
A Flat Head for bulk muscle groups.
A U-Shaped Head for the neck, spine, and Achilles tendons.
and last but not least...
A D-Shaped Head for your abdominal muscles.
TaoTronics Massage Gun review: Product Specs
Weight
TaoTronics massage gun weighs 1.6-pounds on it's own and in the carrying case with all its other parts — just over two pounds. Personally, it does start to wear on my wrist after a while, but is certainly on the lighter end of the spectrum when it comes to full-sized massage guns.
Dimensions
It measures 7.87-inches long by 8.66-inches tall by 2.28-inches wide. I can't fully wrap my fingers around the base, but I can easily hold it in one hand.

TaoTronics Massage Gun will run you $80 full price, but it's currently over 50% off at Walmart which is a hell of a steal. All things considered, even at full price, it's a great value.
